Delaware County EMS Assistant Chief Mike Schuiling

Chief Schuiling graduated from Clear Fork High School, in Richland County, in 1992. Shortly after graduation he began his career in EMS and Rescue with the Worthington Township Volunteer Fire Department, in Butler, Ohio receiving first his firefighting and EMT certifications, and later paramedic certification. (He continues as a Captain with this volunteer Fire Department.)

Mike worked in a fast paced 911-based EMS system in Mansfield, Ohio prior to coming to Delaware County EMS. During this time he worked in almost every aspect of EMS from “Street-Medic” & MICU transport teams to instructing and administration.

He came to Delaware County in July of 2002 when he began working as a Paramedic at Station 4, and later at Station 1. In January of 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was placed in charge of Station 8, on 3-unit.

Mike was promoted to Assistant Chief in September of 2007.
